Basic program 10 weeks:
During the first 6 weeks, students focus on laying solid theoretical foundations, which will allow them to acquire the necessary skills to practice filling out immigration forms.
The following 4 weeks, students will be able to put the theory into practice by developing exercises based on real cases, which we work on in our law firm that has served the community since 1993.
This program includes 2 diplomas that are awarded as; paralegal in immigration and the second immigration clinic, is what the practices in law school are called. Students will have an employment advantage, working independently as immigration form preparers, with law firms, or for non-profit organizations that serve immigrants.
It includes support material that contains disclaimers, models, contracts and other materials that will be very useful during practice. Additionally, you receive 2 months of membership (technical advice for reviewing your first cases).
Schedule:
- Week 1 to 6: Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (EST) and Saturdays 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM (EST) – theoretical module
- Week 7 to 10: Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (EST) and Saturdays 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM (EST) Forms clinic module.
14-week intermediate program:
In this program, students will have access to 4 additional weeks and it is designed to provide all the knowledge related to the U VISA, a visa intended for victims of certain criminal activity. With this program they will learn everything related to:
- Introductory aspects of the U visa;
- U Visa Eligibility;
- Required documents and collaboration requirements for the application;
- USCIS evaluation process;
- Benefits associated with the U visa;
- Obligations and responsibilities of U visa holders;
- Among others.
It includes support material that contains disclaimers, models, contracts and other materials that will be very useful during practice. Additionally, you receive 4 months of membership (technical advice for the review of your first cases).

18-week advanced program:
In this advanced program with emphasis on Defensive Asylum and Court Procedures, it has 4 additional weeks, a module that will allow you to acquire the necessary knowledge to identify the regulations regarding border entry: types of parole, types of release or exit , functions of CBP and ICE, alternative to detention (ATD), defensive asylum with an alien without admission, deadlines for applying for benefits and the importance of compliance, how do you start a defensive asylum process?, the documents that must be required present, what should be the instance or entity to which you should go? and learn about the process before the OPLA offices
